Outback is a licensed wilderness program that uses the wilderness as an alternative to traditional treatment settings, while employing traditional therapeutic methods.
Wilderness Programs sponsored by Outback Treatment Center specializes in troubled teens and struggling teens, 13 to 17 years of age, with a range of emotional and behavioral issues that may include Oppositional Defiance, Attention Deficit, Learning Differences, Low Self Esteem, Depression, Substance Abuse and Family Conflict.
This Wilderness Program encourages the growth and maturation of troubled teens.
Our Wilderness Programs involve therapeutic interventions, outdoor and wilderness experiences and peer interactions.
This wilderness therapy program is challenged to develop enhanced life skills.
The program is an intervention designed to engage teens in character development, resolve personal and family issues, and assist in aftercare planning.
Named after the aboriginal rite of passage where young men and women became adults, Outback Treatment's wilderness program is designed to help youth overcome obstacles and make the transition to adulthood.
Outback's level system is designed to assess and assist a student's progression through developmental stages. Outback encourages the growth and maturation of students in each of the five life areas: Emotional/ Psychological, Intellectual, Social/Behavioral, Spiritual/Ethical, and Physical.
Treatment, not wilderness or survival skills, is the primary focus at Outback. The wilderness setting removes material and technological distractions and uses the environment as a catalyst that moves students outside their "emotional comfort zone." This allows our expert counselors to focus on teaching healthy emotional and behavioral habits.
