The Book of Generations is a book made by Outback students out of leather that is full of inspiring messages written by teens on the day before they leave the wilderness. This book is passed down from student to student and each teen is given the opportunity to write their message to the next “generation” after them. Here is an inspirational message from the Book of Generations:
“Outback saved me. I was headed down a path towards death, jail, or serious injury. “What have I learned here?” I have learned so many things about myself the outdoors, and others. I learned how much potential and strength I have. I learned how to be positive in the toughest situations with help from my fellow Dingoes. I learned how to not be so closed minded and to empathize and see it from others perspectives. I learned how others feelings matter with the help of staff. I learned how to appreciate simple things and help others. I learned to give everything a chance and look at everything as a challenge and be a SEEKER and be OPEN. I learned how beautiful the outdoors can be. I learned to have a heart at peace, to live everyday to the fullest and to work before you play because the play is so much more rewarding. This place saved me and it can do the same for anyone who stays open. I love you Outback! Thank you for everything.”
