Participation in a wilderness therapy program often provides a new perspective by giving teens the time to consider what’s most important in their lives. Often, teens arrive at Outback with a defensive attitude. As they gain confidence and learn to provide for themselves in the wilderness, much of the anger that dominates their personalities disappears and is replaced by an openness and desire to grow and learn. As they rejoin their families, this new openness enables a whole new level of love and communication.
