What Skills Wilderness Therapy Taught Me

Sometimes, in order to reach someone you love, you need to break through an external wall. At Outback Treatment, one of the techniques we use to break through that external wall is to teach the student a skill. Not only are these skills fun, but they build the student’s confidence, create bonds within the group, and build trust. As the student becomes empowered within the group, they are able to open up. The ability to open up is an important step. Sharing with the group makes it easier for the student to get to the heart of what’s bothering them and find a healthy path on their journey.
